Love This City – Hey Jerid, what have you been up to lately?

Jerid Nowell – I’ve been working on the last song called “The Lonely Ones” for my debut EP. It’s sort of a dramatic perception on the club life and the whole lifestyle that surrounds it. I’m really excited to share this track with my fans!

Love This City – At the age of 22 you packed up and moved to New York – what inspired this BIG move and what is what you expected?
Jerid Nowell – I really wanted a change, and I knew that if I want to make it in the music industry I would have to be in either New York or Los Angeles because of all the business connections. I picked New York because it’s actually been my dream to live here, and I love the fast pace environment. I think it’s been everything I expected, and so much more.

Love This City – What would you say has been the turning point of your career?
Jerid Nowell – I would say it’s definitely getting signed to Bash Records. I mean its just such an amazing opportunity for me, and something that I’ve wanted since I was very young.

Love This City – Where were you when you found out you got signed to Bash Records and what went through your mind when you received this amazing news?
Jerid Nowell – I was in the Bash Records office. I had a meeting with Phil Bash, the CEO of the label, who I met through DGMayne. All I remember from Phil Bash was, “I want to sign you…” and he had about 20 things to say right after that, but I didn’t hear or remember any of them because in my head I was dancing like a madman, and it was all I could do to not jump out of my seat. I’m very fortunate for this opportunity, and I am blessed to be apart of the team.

Love This City – What is the best piece of advice you have gotten that you live by?
Jerid Nowell – “Find something you love to do, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life” is very important to me. This advice has always been said to me, but I never really understood it. I then realized that if you’re going to work for the next 30 + years of your life, you better be happy with what you’re doing, or you’re going to be miserable every single day. I have so much passion for music that everyday when I wake up, I can’t wait to get in the studio and start writing new tracks. Therefore if you never want to work a day in your life, find something you love to do, and it won’t feel like work.

Love This City – Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations in the works?
Jerid Nowell – Yes! My debut EP “OUTBURST” will be released this winter and I can’t wait for you guys to hear it!

Love This City – Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
Jerid Nowell – That’s a really though question to answer because anything can happen in the next 5 years. But if I had to pick one thing I would say to perform at the Grammy’s or the VMAs. Giving back to the fans is everything in my mind, and to perform in front of such a wonderful crowd and event would mean everything to me.
