Mad Decent Block Party 2014 is back at it again, this Friday, August 15th.

This year, it’ll be held at the Fort York Garrison Commons and the line up is packed, as you can see from the poster. Chance The Rapper headlining!? YES.

Let’s have a look back at Mad Decent Block Party’s Canadian takeover!

Producer and DJ Diplo started his own record label and called it “Mad Decent”- the label became so big that it created block parties all around USA and now, Canada. From a small, actual block party on a street in Philadelphia to huge venues around the continent, Mad Decent Block Party only became an international festival two years ago when they played for the first time in Toronto.

In 2012, Toronto’s first Mad Decent Block Party was held at Yonge-Dundas Square (‘Time Square’ of Toronto) for FREE. Canadian favourites such as ZEDS DEAD, A Tribe Called Red, Jacques Greene and BADBADNOTGOOD got the crowd going wild.

2013 is the year they made this moving festival a ticketed event due to “the continual need to expand venues and book bigger artists.” But that’s okay—last year, Major Lazer, RiFF RAFF and hometown heroes ZEDS DEAD and Thugli were just some of the acts to take the stage.

Their third annual show is this Friday, and you can be a part of the Mad Decent history books too. Get your tickets now!
