Wakame Sushi | Love This City TV

Who doesn’t love some unreal All You Can Eat (AYCE) Sushi? Currently, I’m a University Student living in Waterloo, ON and whenever my roommates and I feel like going out for dinner, we always choose to go for some AYCE sushi- because it’s delicious, endless and only a block away from our apartment. However, the sushi here in the loo does not compare to the many AYCE sushi restaurants that Toronto has to offer. In fact, whenever I go out with my friends for dinner in the 416, 90% of the time, we’re at Wakame Sushi, located at 638 Sheppard Ave. W, in Sheppard Plaza. However, there is another location at Weston Rd. and Highway 401- 2623 Weston Rd, Unit 31.

So, why is the sushi at Wakame so unreal? I don’t know, there must be something in the Wakame air that makes its food drool-worthy, just kidding! Everything that Wakame serves seems to be really fresh. You can definitely count on your bowl of edamame to be steaming hot, your raw fish pieces to be cool but edible, and of course, your deep fried bananas to be covered in delicious batter. What have I had at Wakame? Let me make a list for you- seaweed salad, avocado salad, thousands of sashimi pieces, a countless number of shrimp sushi pieces, shrimp tempura, scallops, salmon sushi pizza, avocado sushi pizza, rolls on rolls, vanilla ice cream and MORE! I guess you can say I really like sushi! However, I don’t blame myself for my sushi-lover status, I blame my sushi-lovin’ friends- Katrina, Erica, Eden, Sammi, etc. for this addiction. Before I met these girls, I would never have thought to stick a piece of raw fish in my mouth, but damn these girls are persuasive and oh, how I thank them for that! If your stomach cannot hold as much sushi as mine can, you’re in luck because Wakame Sushi has an A la carte menu as well! Bento boxes, noodle dishes and teriyaki options will all be sitting there on the menu, presenting themselves beautifully, patiently waiting for you to choose one of them to devour- it’s kind of like the bachelor.

Anyways, we have come to that point in the article when we must discuss what everyone hates to discuss when it comes to eating- $$$. If you choose the AYCE option for lunch, it’s only $13.95 for anyone between the ages of 10 and 65. If you choose the AYCE option for dinner, you’re looking at spending around $21.00 (which still is not bad). For more information regarding prices or if you wish to take a look at the menu, check out: http://www.wakamesushi.ca.

I can’t lie, Wakame Sushi is not considered to be a “fancy” place (well, not the Bathurst and Sheppard location), but it’s a clean joint, serves good grub and definitely does the job at satisfying a sushi craving. So, if you want some sushi, you should probably check out one of Wakame Sushi’s locations.
